Us

In 2010 when we took our first trip to the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas, little did we know how the underwater world was going to affect us.  The first day we had trepidations over swimming 100 yards out from the shore into 20 feet of water to go snorkeling over patch reefs but once we dove in we were hooked.

Our snorkeling adventures turned into some novice freediving the following year when we returned to “Lutra”, as it is called by native Eleuthereans. This time we hired a local to take us out into deeper water where we could see bigger coral formations and bigger fish, even sharks. He did not disappoint us and the trip seduced us further. We returned home with dreams of eventually moving to the island so we could experience the beautiful blue waters and the treasures beneath the waves every day.

The following year our youngest son graduated from high school and when we asked him where he wanted to go for a graduation trip he replied that  he wanted to learn to scuba dive. Now that was a great idea! So in June of 2012 we drove down to the Florida Keys and spent a week learning to dive and getting our open water certification.  In October we celebrated our wedding anniversary by returning to the Keys to get our advance certification, albeit this time without our son.

Since then we have spent as much time underwater as we can while living in Louisiana.  Unfortunately unless we want to dive with the alligators we have to travel to swim with the fishies.

In addition to our love of diving we have found that we love underwater photography and videography just as much.  We’re not sure if we take pictures because we dive or we dive so we can take pictures.

Our photos and videos are our dive logs. We enjoy going back through them time and time again to reminisce over the trips, the things we saw and the people we met. We enjoy sharing them with friends and family as well. Feel free to share our website, videos, pictures and trip reports with others.  We hope we can encourage others to take up scuba diving so they too can enjoy wonderful experiences like ours.
